Conditions

At Warrior Health Foundation, we are committed to helping our military Special Operations Forces (SOF) veterans achieve and maintain lasting wellness. Our holistic approach is provided at no cost to participants, so that we can give back to these heroes and help them achieve peak wellness.

What Causes Conditions in SOF Veterans?

SOF veterans are known to experience a range of health issues due to the rigorous physical requirements of service. Several studies have confirmed the extensive negative effects that SOF service has on our military members, which often affect SOF veterans for the rest of their lives. These effects have been specifically linked to the following demands of combat readiness:

  • High physical demands
  • Negative energy balance
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Vitamin and hormone imbalance

What Conditions are Caused by Training and Combat?

In addition to the training and daily responsibilities of SOF members, combat can take a heavy toll on the body, and subsequently, overall wellness. One of the most common effects of combat is traumatic brain injury. These injuries aren’t necessarily caused by direct impact. Instead, we often discover that these injuries develop due to repeated exposure to concussive blast waves. Most often, the pituitary glands in the brain are affected. The pituitary gland is responsible for producing a vast number of hormones in the body. When damaged, the production of hormones is impacted, quickly leading to a hormonal imbalance.

What are the Effects of Vitamin and Hormone Imbalances?

Vitamins and hormones are vital to well-being and natural bodily functions. When an imbalance occurs, it can throw off many systems of the body, producing an array of negative effects. SOF veterans who are exposed to vitamin or hormone imbalances often experience effects that include:

  • Depression or mood changes
  • Sleep deficiency or insomnia
  • Decrease in cognitive function
  • Addiction and/or substance abuse
  • Decrease in family resiliency
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Decreased bone density and muscle mass
  • Lack of energy
  • And more

How are These Conditions Treated?

At Warrior Health Foundation, we help SOF veterans improve their physical, mental and emotional strength by correcting vitamin and hormone imbalances. Our Vitamin and Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) programs can help our SOF veterans significantly improve their quality of life and achieve peak wellness. We are proud to offer these services at no cost to participants, who can participate from anywhere in the United States.
